Congelados Apolo expands in the North of Spain with the opening, in 2015, of new commercial networks in Galicia and Asturias, in addition to the existing ones. The company, leader in Andalusia in the production and sale of frozen seafood, continues to expand its commercial structure, strengthening its position in different areas where it already has a geographical presence, including the North, Center and South of Spain, as well as in the Levante and Balearic Islands, where it has experienced significant growth in sales. Congelados Apolo has sales representatives in these parts of the country, as well as in Zaragoza, Madrid and Catalonia. The company from Granada, based in Loja, continues to consolidate its network outside Andalusia, an expansion to which it owes, in part, the success achieved in recent years, despite the difficult economic context. Thus, although the crisis is not alien to the food sector, Congelados Apolo has managed to weather the storm by closing 2014 with a 23.50% increase in its turnover. The company went from a turnover of 21.7 million euros in 2013 to more than 26.8 million last year.
A 66% growth in the last two years
An analysis of the company’s evolution since 2012, when turnover amounted to 16.1 million, shows that the growth in turnover has been 66%. In two years, turnover has increased by more than 10.6 million.

Approximately 30% of Congelados Apolo’s sales come from its own products, mainly seafood and octopus, imported from the best fishing grounds in the world: China, Vietnam, Argentina or Colombia, among them. These seafood products are marketed frozen in different formats, both raw and cooked. For their cooking, the pioneer company in the frozen sector has one of the best cookers in Spain, with a capacity to process 1,500 tons. In shrimp alone, Apolo’s facilities process and pack around 800 tons per year. The company, with presence in important sector fairs such as Conxemaralso markets different ranges of prepared, processed and pre-cooked dishes, mainly from the sea, but also from the countryside, in addition to products from other companies -Casty, Congelados Navarra, Marfrío or Maheso, among others- which represent 70% of its business.
Telesales Department: integral attention focused on the customer
In order to bring the merchandise closer to the customer, Congelados Apolo has implemented a Telesales department which, for the moment, operates in the province of Granada and neighboring areas. Its manager, Elvira Ortiz, offers a comprehensive service that includes advice on how to place orders, among other issues. With her help, the customer receives, in addition to the product, immediate information to resolve any type of doubt with a simple phone call. This pilot project, recently implemented, has started with six departure routes throughout the week. The new customer service department is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. With its implementation, Congelados Apolo offers an extra service that brings it even closer to the customer.
