This Saturday, June 24, more than 1000 people attended a historic milestone within our company. We are delighted to bring you the chronicle of the inauguration of the new facilities of Congelados Apolo. Our thanks to everyone who came to the Manzanil II industrial estate to enjoy with us.
The facilities
The Manzanil II Industrial Park, which has an exit to the A-92 highway, saw how our company opened its new facilities there this Saturday. During these next few days, the logistics and administration area of Congelados Apolo will move to the new facilities. These facilities are in the first phase of development and we have 5,000 m² of which 1,500 m² are dedicated to a 22,000 m³ cold room with a capacity for 3 million kilos of product, which means the storage of 5,000 pallets.
Emotional speeches
At an event like this there are always a few words to dedicate to the people who have come to experience your party. In our case they could not be other than words of gratitude. Thanks to God, thanks to all those who came to enjoy this special day with us and thanks to customers, suppliers and friends who came so many kilometers to enjoy this day with us. The parish priest Juan Carlos Moreno, from St. Gabriel’s Church, was the first to take the microphone to address the audience. In his speech he blessed the facilities.
Mr. Manuel Alcaide, the company’s purchasing manager, thanked all those who make up Apolo for their efforts. It was also mentioned that this was the first phase of the project. The new facilities, located in the Manzanil II industrial park, have the possibility of being expanded in the future, since the company has a total of 17,000 m², of which only 5,000 m² have been built at the moment.
The mayor of Loja, Joaquín Camacho, the highest representative of the Loja City Council, emphasized that Congelados Apolo is also very important for the city. He appreciated the creation of employment without forgetting the human issue. He placed Congelados Apolo as a model of exemplary company in the city that saw “how it has companies that prosper from scratch with the values of those family businesses that start from the bottom and that with effort, dedication, honesty and humility you can get to the top”.
The one who has the most to say about the company is Doña Ana Ávila, who started this project with Don Apolonio Alcaide, her husband, in 1963. And it was towards him that she wanted to direct her speech. She made us see that they were living, on both sides, fulfilled dreams that did not stop there, that we had to keep working to continue creating jobs.

As much as a person may succeed in life what makes them good are their values. Similarly, what makes our company great is not our success, it’s us. Our values, our people and everything we share. Time can pass us by, for generations to come to succeed ours. We can make a bigger house so that we can be more. And still more. Family will grow, change the world and who we are. However, no matter how much time passes what really defines us will never change. Our work, our love for our own, are what have made us reach the top.
