Why Iceland?
The lovers of the cuisine coming from the sea already know it and others, accustomed to see the name of this country start to wonder: why Iceland is present in fishing?
2,000 km north of the Spanish coast, there is a country with equally good conditions for fishing. It is the island of Iceland, a Nordic country located between Europe and America and very close to Greenland.
Thanks to the cold and warm currents that circulate near the island, this country has the perfect conditions for plankton breeding and, therefore, for a long food chain.
What does the first freezing consist of?
When you see a label that says it is a first frozen product, these are the highest quality products. The first frozen seafood has been removed and stored on the ship on ice. Then, upon arrival at port, the pieces are cut and the product is frozen. Thus, it manages to preserve all the properties of a fresh product, including not only the nutritional properties but also qualities such as the original texture and flavor.
On the other hand, when the product is not first frozen, it is necessary to thaw the product to make the cut and freeze it again.
