How to cook frozen octopus
Among our frozen products you can find several types of octopus:
- Octopus in skin (trays with different legs).
- Octopus in juice (individual packed)
- Octopusin trays (loose legs)
For cooking, it is recommended to cook both options in a bain-marie. Octopus in skin and octopus in its juice, due to its packaging format, can be cooked directly in the packaging, while octopus in tray is placed in the pot as it is, without the packaging.
To ensure that the product is at its perfect point, the ideal way to prepare it is as follows:
- Mainly we put a pot with water to heat.
- We let it heat until it boils.
- Once it has reached the boiling point, reduce the heat and add the octopus apollo.
- Let it cook for 2 to 4 minutes.
- Season to taste and that’s it!
It is not necessary to add salt or oil to the water, since for our product to have more flavor, it is recommended to season it after cooking. This way it will be ready to taste directly!
Another option to cook it, although it is not the most recommended, is to prepare it in the microwave. If we opt for this option, we must be very attentive to the cooking time because if we spend too much time, our product may lose quality and become hard.
