There is much confusion about the difference between lobster and lobster.
In the wild
The lobster is a predator on a small scale. We are used to talking about predators and pointing to eagles, tigers, lions, sharks, etc. However, although its appearance is not so fierce, the lobster is an animal made for hunting. Its morphological characteristics give it away.
Like so many other decapods, including lobsters, lobsters are nocturnal animals. They are nocturnal predators of the seabed. However, where the lobster does not even have claws, the lobster has two that are terrifying to its victims. One of its claws is sharp and is used for cutting. The other, on the other hand, has a serrated shape that is used for crushing.
The American lobster generates a little more confusion. This confusion, which for the initiated is what differentiates the lobster from the lobster, is the color of each one when they are alive (dark blue almost black for the lobster versus the red of the lobster). The American lobster has claws and is still called a lobster but it is really more of a red lobster than a lobster.
As we explained with the differences between langoustine and shrimp, some languages denote the lack of vocabulary in other languages to define many of these species, where they are often referred to as “shrimp”.
In the kitchen
The meat of both animals is highly appreciated by everyone.
Being two very similar animals, after all the lobster is a lobster that has developed two giant claws on its front legs, the meat tastes very similar. Perhaps the lobster has a milder flavor than the lobster and that is why we eat rice with lobster when we want to savor it to its full potential. In addition, we can add that the lobster claws and the American lobster (which we have already said is a lobster) can be eaten and are a delicacy.
However, eating these jewels of the sea with rice is something 100% Mediterranean. In other places where lobster and lobster are consumed this can be almost sacrilege and they are usually accompanied with sauces.
