Mariscos Apolo, at Conxemar 2014

In October we pack our bags to travel to Vigo (Pontevedra), where we will once again participate in the International Fair of Frozen Seafood Products (Conxemar), one of the most important in the national sector, as well as an unmissable event for professionals worldwide. For the sixth consecutive year, Mariscos Apolo will be present at this event, which is expected to attract around 40,000 people– last year around 24,200 people from 84 countries visited the Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI), where it is held.

As curious notes on the growing expectation of this edition, it should be noted that Vigo’s hotels are almost full for a month, or that airlines such as Vueling will reinforce their flights between Vigo and Barcelona on the days of the event, which will take place from October 7 to 9.

2014 edition

The frozen food fair is also loaded with new features in this new edition: its surface area will be increased by 1,000 square meters, reaching 32,500 m2, and its international participation will be increased. In fact, countries such as the United Kingdom, Morocco, Nicaragua, Brazil and Chile will have their first pavilions.

As we mentioned last year, Conxemar gets its name from the group that organizes it, of the same name: the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Processors and Exporters of Fishery and Aquaculture Products, consolidated as an important instrument of union in the Spanish frozen sector.

Since its creation 16 years ago, this meeting of frozen fish companies has gradually increased the number of visitors and exhibitors, while making quality and professionalism its hallmarks. With such a track record, how could we miss the event? Already in the last edition we had the opportunity to present a new product:green boxes of frozen cooked prawns and frozen raw prawns..

As we mentioned at the time, this format has a more affordable price, thanks to the introduction of new techniques that allow us to prepare the product in facilities located in the areas of origin of their collection, so they land in Spain in record time, retaining properties and top quality at a much more competitive cost.

On this occasion we will show you all the artillery and, in addition to our green boxes of raw and frozen cooked prawns, we will show you other products that we prepare and pack in Mariscos Apolo, from the best fishing grounds in the world. In this format we pack cooked tiger prawns, in boxes of 30/40 pieces; cooked langoustine, in boxes of 10/15 pieces; and cooked shrimp, in boxes of 20/30 pieces.
