The II Edition of the Apolo Bike gathered at the facilities of Mariscos Apolo in Loja (Granada) to the lovers of mountain biking in an exciting sporting event in the west of Granada. This sporting event of which we are the main sponsors is positioning itself as an unmissable event for mountain biking in Andalusia.
The sporting event
Apolo Bike is a non-federated cycling sport event in the middle of nature in the west of Granada, organized by Eventos Non Stop and Track. In this second edition, it has counted with almost 400 attendees being able to participate in the competition in two different modalities: MTB and E-bike.
On this occasion, the circuit consisted of a 65 km route in which cyclists enjoyed a unique environment, passing through the city of Loja, the Sierra Lojeña and the Dehesa de los Montes.
In addition, this mountain bike sporting event had sponsors such as Coca-Cola, Caja Rural, McCain, Lizana meat and sausages, Bioloxa, Nucesa, CN Congelados de Navarra, among others. Also noteworthy is the collaboration of numerous companies and public entities such as the Diputación de Granada and the City Council of Loja.
The classification
The best time in the MTB modality in the Absolute male category was for the cyclist Víctor Manuel Fernández Grande of the Soudal Lee Cougan club with a time of 2h 29′ 57”. Second place went to José María Sánchez Ruíz of the Scott Calabandida club with a time of 2h 30′ 01”. The podium was completed by the cyclist Manuel Cordero Morado of the Extremadura Ecopilas club with a third place with a time of 2h 30’36”.
In the Absolute female category, the podium was formed by: María Díaz Pernia from the Bull Bike Armilla club with a time of 3h 3′ 11”, being the first finalist. The second position was for Jessica González Molina with a time of 3h 34′ 02”. The third position was for Nieves Cantos Bertos of the Dr Bike club with a time of 3h 37′ 05”.
All the participants in the race received the finisher medal from Apolo Bike. Also, in this edition of the Apolo Bike the first classified of the absolute MBT categories obtained a cash prize: 1st prize 400€, 2nd prize 250€ and 3rd prize 150€. In the rest of the categories, the first three classified received, in addition to the trophy, a prize provided by the sponsors.
Activities for all participants
In addition to the professional and amateur cyclists who came to Loja for the competition, it is worth noting the total number of attendees, which was around 1.500 people, which, in addition to enjoying the sporting event, came to have fun with the activities carried out in parallel to the sporting competition at the facilities of Mariscos Apolo: the intervention of sports speaker Pepe Yepes and Salvi García Nieto, speaker of Real Betis Balompié, spinning class taught by instructors of sports center BPXport Loja, children’s bike circuit and bouncy castles, 360º platform, Apolo food truck, bar with drinks and food and concert by the group Satellites lojeño.
A sporting event that every year more and more people join to enjoy a day of mountain biking, good sports and family atmosphere and a competition that aims to become a benchmark in Andalusia.
